Gamification in teaching and learning enhances student engagement by incorporating game elements into educational activities, making learning more interactive and enjoyable. At Monash University, two educational board games, Learnux and Kingdom of Stats (KOS) have been developed and implemented as teaching tools. Learnux integrates 18 Linux command lines into its gameplay, reinforcing technical skills through strategic play, while KOS transforms complex statistical concepts (inferential analysis) into an immersive, hands-on strategy game.
