Narayanan Ramakrishnan is an Associate Professor in Electrical and Robotics Engineering at the School of Engineering (SoE), Monash University Malaysia. He also serves as the Director of Innovation and Enterprise for the SoE and IT, and leads the Micro and Nano Devices Group. His research interests include sensors, semiconductor devices, MEMS, and wearable technology. He has received several awards, including the PECIPTA Gold Award for inventing a compact mask aligner system. In 2021, he was awarded the Monash Australia Dean’s Award for innovation in remote FPGA labs for education, as well as multiple Pro Vice-Chancellor Awards for research, enterprise, and education. He holds patents related to semiconductor fabrication tools and devices. He is also the co-founder and director of FirstChip Sdn. Bhd., a semiconductor-focused start-up and partner company of Malaysia’s National Semiconductor IC Design Park.
