Fazlan Abdullah is the Acting Head of the Pre-Emptive Technology & Services Division at CyberSecurity Malaysia. Since 2008, he has played a key role in national cyber policies, including the National Cyber Security Policy, Malaysia’s Cyber Security Strategy (2020–2024, 2025–2030), and the CyberSecurity Act 2024. He has contributed to ISO standards, public sector frameworks, and led certification programmes for local ICT products. He was seconded to JPDP as Assistant Commissioner and later to the Ministry of Communications and Digital’s DERAS task force. He holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering & Electronics from UMIST and has over 28 years’ experience in various areas, including cybersecurity and risk management.
