Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan is currently the Vice-President for Research and Development at Monash University Malaysia. He previously served as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (2019–2022) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for physical development at the University of Malaya (2013–2019). With 28 years in academia, he has received recognition for academic leadership, research, teaching, research commercialisation, and sports. His spinout company, Flexilicate SB, provides precision-designed micron glass structures for organisations such as NASA, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and TDK.
