Chan Eng Seng is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Monash University Malaysia, specialising in the development of innovative and sustainable technologies for processing oils and fats. His research spans food, fuels, and oleochemicals, with a strong focus on industrial relevance and scalability. He collaborates with industry leaders such as Petronas, Patum, and Procter & Gamble to tackle real-world challenges, from lab-based studies to pilot-scale trials. He leads the MIPO Biorefinery Laboratory, promoting industry-academic partnerships in bioresource processing and training. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). He also co-founded a US-based start-up addressing global food system challenges.
